VHF Tracking
The wildlife biologists at PERDIX have extensive knowledge of using VHF radio-tracking for both wildlife research and management projects. Using this knowledge, we wanted to design and supply a VHF transmitter that was powerful, reliable, easy to use and cost effective. After 4 years of development and field testing, PERDIX is now able to supply its own VHF tags suitable for many wildlife applications. Starting at just 5.5g, our game and wildlife transmitters come with mortality switches (movement sensors) and one-touch reed switches as standard. Battery life ranges from 110 days to over 3 years depending on settings and battery type used.
Like many biologists, we were tired of humping around heavy hand-held yagi antennas that kept getting tangled up and breaking in vegetation. We therefore developed the PERDIX flexible hand-held yagi antenna that is extremely lightweight and comfortable to use. With a gain of 6dB our antenna will perform as well, if not better, than the old fashioned yagi antennas.
In addition to our stocked products, we often design and manufacture bespoke equipment that requires VHF technology. If you would like further information on any of VHF tracking equipment and services please do not hesitate to contact us.
