Supplemental Feeding

Providing seeds and grains to supplement naturally occurring foods of game birds is commonly known as Supplemental Feeding. This is particularly important during the late winter and early spring months when food availability is at its lowest. This is also the time when female game birds require adequate food resources to ensure they are in good condition for the breeding season. Providing supplemental food to pheasants and other game birds during the spring and early summer has been scientifically shown to improve breeding performance. In addition, other farmland birds benefit from this source of food as well. If you primarily feeding non-game bird species please visit our Farmland Wildlife section for feeders designed for farmland birds.
