Description

This wooden tunnel has been specifically designed to house the Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS) approved PERDIX Spring Trap. The PERDIX Spring Trap is legal for use in England and Scotland for the trapping of rats, grey squirrels, weasels and stoats. The PERDIX Spring Trap wooden tunnel is constructed from high quality 18mm plywood treated with a spirit based wood preservative to ensure long life in the field. The central area of the tunnel is defined by the two wooden strips across the width of the tunnel and is where the PERDIX Spring Trap should be located when in use.

To prevent non-target animals captures, each trapping tunnel has a 2mm olive drab powder coated steel excluder at each end. They are located 155mm (>6 inches) from the treadle plate in accordance with GWCT best practice trapping guidelines.  The excluders can be removed for cleaning or when  pre-baiting.  A solid 2mm excluder is also provided with the PERDIX Spring Trap wooden tunnel to allow it to be used as a single-entry (blind ended) tunnel if required eg when bait is being used.
The squirrel excluder entrance measures 65mm wide by 90mm high and the stoat entrance measures 50mm wide by 50mm high.

A double hinged lid allows for quick and easy access to the trap and is securely closed using a strong hasp and staple (Carbine hook included). For additional security, a padlock (not supplied) could be used.
