VHF Wildlife Tracking Receiver
The PERDIX VHF receiver is compact, lightweight and very robust. It has been field tested by us and many wildlife biologists around the world and has proven to be extremely reliable, very easy to use and considerably more sensitive than other more expensive models on the market. Starting at a price below £1100 including VAT it is also fantastic value for money.
Displayed on an illuminated LCD screen, the frequency of the wildlife transmitter being tracked can be set to the kHz (.00X MHz) using the large, easy to use dials. The dials are also used to control fine trimming of the frequency (tone) within the last kHz and the gain. The adjustable gain allows for precise directionality even at very close range. Our VHF receiver also has a very useful scan feature that allows up to 40 programmable channels to be scanned automatically. Each channel can be independently included or excluded within a scan and the scan-time per channel can be set from 1 to 9 seconds. The strength of the signal received from a wildlife transmitter is indicated visually on an LED array and also via a loudspeaker. Earphones can also be used via the speaker jack. The receiver is powered by two 1.5 V. batteries which will last for up to 12 hours of continuous use in the field. The external yagi antenna is connected via a compact LEMO type socket. The receiver is supplied with an adaptor to allow a BNC connector to be used and a handy carrying case.
The standard receiver model comes with a frequency range of 2 MHz between 138 and 175 MHz. A consecutive band width of 4 MHz is also available upon request at an additional cost of £200 excl. VAT. Please contact us with your requirements.
