PERDIX Heavy Duty Farmland Feeder

Following the success of our original Farmland Feeders, we are pleased to introduce a new Heavy Duty Farmland Feeder.  This all-metal farmland bird feeder has been designed and manufactured in the UK to last. Made from hot dipped galvanised steel it is tough yet light enough to be easily moved  around in the field using the fixed handles.

This Farmland Feeder model with its larger capacity of approximately 25kg has two of our tried and tested bird feeder ports located at the front and rear of the feeder.  The four detachable legs provide an extremely stable platform while lifting the body of the feeder 15 inches from the ground. Holes are located in each foot to allow them to be anchored to the ground if required.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPPLEMENTAL FEEDING

Feeding farmland birds during the winter and spring is extremely important on modern agricultural landscapes where food availability can be low during the late winter and early spring period. This is often termed the 'hungry gap'. Research has shown that survival and breeding success of birds is increased on areas where grain is supplied. As such, supplemental feeding is now promoted as a management prescription through the Environmental Stewardship Scheme in England.
