PERDIXPro Global 4G Cat 1bis & 2G trap tags are designed for use in conjunction with the PERDIXPro Trapping Tool, one of the wildlife research and management tools available on the PERDIXPro platform. Our tried and tested trap monitoring system has been designed and built to provide trap users with a powerful and adaptable trap management and monitoring tool.
To install and use the Trapping Tool on your PERDIXPro account is FREE of charge. This allows you to manage, group and map all of your trap sites, record trapping activities and captures, assign roles and visibility of trapping activities, log site visits (with time, date and geo-reference) and much more. All this information can be collected and stored securely via the portal or App.
When it comes to remotely monitoring your traps, PERDIXPro trap tags have been designed to be hassle-free and extremely easy to use in the field, whether the user is experienced with technology or not. No need for bits of string or magnets like older-style monitoring systems - just attach the tag, activate in PERDIXPro Trapping via your Portal or App and you're done.
Because PERDIXPro trap tags are activated via the vibration caused when a trap is set off and /or moved by a trapped animal, they can be easily used on a wide range of traps and in most trapping situations. They can be easily attached directly to cage (live-capture) traps using standard or stainless steel cage ties or screwed onto the housing / tunnels of spring (kill) traps. They can also be attached to humane cable-restraints and leg-hold traps. To allow PERDIXPro Trap Tags to perform optimally with your traps, the sensitivity of your tags can be changed remotely via your PERDIXPro portal.
Capture-alerts, set up via the portal and App, can be received directly within your account or via email and / or SMS. The PERDIXPro system allows users to create dynamic structures and roles extremely comprehensive structure for managing users and their roles and so multiple users can receive capture-alerts if required it is also worth noting that PERDIXPro enabled cameras can also be used to monitor traps within the Trapping Tool.
The 'health' of the trap tag, including battery life, signal strength, data usage, events and heartbeat, is displayed in your PERDIXPro portal and App.
All trap tags come with PERDIXPro SIM cards pre-installed. Our sims are roaming and will connect to the strongest network available in your trapping area. They also use secure data connection and IMEI-lock security and so cannot be used if stolen. Your inventory of SIMs and devices can be managed in your portal.
The PERDIXPro Global Trap Tags are designed for use in areas where Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) cellular connectivity is not widely available or where they may be used in different countries for research and management projects, particularly in Africa. These tags are built using the latest 4G LTE Cat 1bis and 2G cellular (mobile) technology and housed in an ultra rugged case (IP68 & IK06 rated). This PERDIXPro Trap Tag is designed for use on standard traps and their housing. The 3 x user-replaceable AA lithium batteries are able to last for up to 5 years with light use but a life of 3 years is more realistic during normal use.
PERDIXPro Trap Tag connection fees
We provide two options for PERDIXPro connection; Short Term Subscriptions or Project Packages.
Short Term Subscriptions
These are designed for short term trapping projects where the tags will be deployed for a few months each year or the project will last for up to 2 years. Users activate a tag's subscription whenever required in their PERDIXPro portal. Trap tags can be activated for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months depending on your project duration. Short Term Subscriptions start at £5 per month (excludes VAT where applicable). There are no charges for the tags when not being used. Project Packages
Our packages are designed for projects that wish to combine the cost of the tag and subscription in one upfront payment. This is often favourable when applying for capital items via a grant. Project packages are available for 3 or 5 years and include:
- A 4G trap tag.
- A set of AA batteries (Energizer Lithium).
- Tag connection to PERDIXPro for the duration of the package i.e. 3 or 5 years.
- Extended tag warranty for the duration of a package. Standard warranty is 2 years.
- Subscriptions start at time of tag delivery or on a prior agreed date.
- Unable to move devices between different accounts during a package period.
